MachAutama Controls R+D, based in Amarillo, Texas, is led by Founder and Chief Research Engineer Jeremy McDonald. He has deep roots in industrial manufacturing systems, reliability, maintenance, and engineering. Jeremy's journey began humbly on the factory floor as a production operator at the age of 18. He then advanced to become a Process Mechanical technician, an Injection Molding Technician, Journeyman Mechanic, and Process Engineer for a global automotive materials supplier. Eventually, he served as a Mold Shop Supervisor for the largest container manufacturer in the world. Through continuous education and self-improvement, he achieved the title of Master Class Automation Technician in the bio-pharma industry for SiO2 Materials Science, a company which played a critical role in Operation Warp Speed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jeremy has since worked as a Control Systems Specialist on the Reliabilty, Maintenance & Engineering Team for the logistics giant Amazon, supporting six sister sites in the Metro Atlanta area as electrical and control system subject matter expert, all while earning a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering (ESET). Today, he serves as Control Systems Engineer II at the largest whey and cheese ingredients processing facility in the world. A member of the International Society of Automation (ISA), Jeremy holds numerous high-level automation certifications, including Rockwell Automation's ControlLogix System Design and Asset Centre Administration, and AVEVA Systems Platform Development and Administration.
With over 17 years of manufacturing experience, Jeremy is passionate about technology, artificial intelligence, and controls engineering. MachAutama Controls R+D is the foundational platform he is setting up as he earns his Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Texas at Austin. On top of his expertise in Mechatronics Engineering, this builds the framework of his aspirations. He is dedicated to advancing the fields of IIoT, Industry 4.0, automation, and mechatronics.
To fund his private research company, MachAutama Controls R+D, will soon be offering services for remote development roles in advanced automation, electronic systems, hardware and software engineering, as well as the development and improvement of SCADA systems in the manufacturing and agricultural industries.
